1983 Film
Perhaps the biggest film event of 1983 was the release of Episode VI of the original Star Wars trilogy, Return of the Jedi. It was, by a long shot, the most successful film in terms of box office income. The second placed film on this basis, Terms of Endearment, scooped four of the Oscars - Best Film, Best Director (James L. Brooks), Best Actress (Shirley MacLaine) and Best Supporting Actor (Jack Nicholson).
