1981 Film
Taking a year off from Star Wars, George Lucas released the first of the original Indiana Jones trilogy, Raiders of the Lost Ark. These were still the days before the multiplex (well, where I lived it was!) so I didn't get to see this film until it was shown on the telly a couple of Christmases later.
There was a James Bond film, For Your Eyes Only (Roger Moore's fifth outing) and we also saw one of Terry Gilliam's better efforts outside of Monty Python with Time Bandits. The top British film of the year was Chariots of Fire, starring Ian Charleson as Eric Liddell.
