As one of my comedy heroes, Ben Elton was apt to say, 'A little bit of politics there.'
Or here, in my diary, as I wrote, 'It was the budget today. It was a rich man's budget from a rich man's Government. Highest rate of tax -> 40%. Lowest is only 25%.' Quite why I chose to comment like that I don't know, but as far as being a pithy political pronouncement I think that it falls a bit flat.
What would Ben Elton have done with the same material..?
